Craniosacral Therapy Level 1 of 10
Jan

to Jan 26

Craniosacral Therapy Level 1 of 10

9:30-5:30, Wednesday-Saturday

9:30-2 Sunday

Instructor: Holly Pinto, BS, LMT, RCST

The focus of this course is to learn to distinguish the importance of Primary Respiration and its movement in the fluid body. The fluid body is the sum of all the different types of fluids in the body and is over 90% of the human body. The student continues to learn to sense Primary Respiration in his or her own body first and then the client. Primary Respiration is a foundation of health and compassion in the human body.

Understanding and perceiving the five layers of the biodynamic process will be the clinical focus. Orienting, Synchronizing, Attuning, Disengaging, and Igniting represent the states of perception associated with both the stillness of the midline and Primary Respiration in the whole. An introduction to the dynamic morphology of the human embryo will be explored theoretically and with table work.

Students will learn to move their attention through four zones of perception. This starts with the practitioner's body, the space immediately around their body, the office space and the natural world outside the office. This practice establishes a three-dimensional wholeness for both the practitioner and the client with and without contact with the hand. It is called a "cycle of attunement" and is crucial to the healing process.

Dates for the remaining levels for this 3-year, diploma program training:

Presented by Philippa Norman MD MPH

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian therapy gaining in popularity. You will learn about the various ways that dosha can be disrupted, manifesting as musculoskeletal health symptoms and other common conditions.

We will also discuss Ayurvedic nutrition including specifically, how nutrition impacts the formation and health of muscles, bones and nerves, as compared to the Western viewpoint. We will discuss the key role of massage therapy in Ayurveda, including commonly used oils and other substances, how the approaches are customized for different constitutions, and why massage is considered a foundation for maintaining and restoring health.

The class will be interactive including lecture, activities and small group discussions.

Presented by Philippa Norman MD MPH, a holistic physician for over 35 years, and Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner. She has studied Ayurveda with Dr. Vasant Lad in New Mexico as well as at his Gurukula in Pune, India.
